#22 Italy Paris Champagne Burgundy

The 22nd edition of repast is here and it chock full of great travel, dining and drinking adventures.

Starting in Friuli and make our way around much of Italy, spending time in Piedmont, Campania, Le Marche and Tuscany, taking in all the vinous and dining pleasures that this great country offers. A few days in Champagne yielded some special tastings with the highlight being a 1953 Champagne at A&J Demiere.

The Paris dining scene is as vibrant as ever. We take in some of our favourite restaurants and road test a few new ones. A couple of weeks in Burgundy and tastings at many of the finest Domaines. Mainly looking at vintage 2024, which is so bright and energetic in both colours. We also unearth some dining gems that will be on high rotation for us in the future. Our daughter Lily has put together her European tips for the younger folk out there, and you older folk will be devasted at the news that our trusty wingman, Colin Gaetjens is hanging up the Riedel glass and retiring from repast travels. He is at his curmudgeonly best in this issue.
