2023 Domaine Jessiaume Santenay Les Gravières 1er Cru, Rouge, 375ml

The 'classic' Gravières from Jessiaume is astoundingly good in 2023, with pronounced aromas of ripe plum and blackberry, with hints of smoke, earth and spice. The tannins are firm and long, and the substantial extract carries the wine to a lovely, long finish. The domaine has a substantial holding in Gravières of more than 5ha; six different sectors of the vineyard are farmed and vinified separately, and blended before bottling. This wine is impressive.
