Over the years, we have had more positive feedback on Fournier’s Bourgogne Rouge than any wine we import. Fans of this wine will be over the moon with this 2023. It comes off young vines Marsannay and is fully de-stemmed. It is aged in larger old barrels and the fruit shines. There are cherries and strawberries and plenty of crunch. It has a chalky base and fresh acidity. JH 2025
Laurent Fournier spends countless hours in his vineyards and has a deft hand in the cellar. The wines are deep and pure, driven by their fruit and develop gorgeous perfumes with cellaring. He is regarded by many, as the best producer in Marsannay and with its proximity to Gevrey-Chambertin, his wines share many of the traits with top Gevrey, except for the price tag. His 2023’s are splendid. Laurent kept yields relatively low in this abundant harvest and picked on the earlier side to maintain freshness. He believes that 2023 is the best vintage he has experienced for quality and quantity.
