This is 90% Sangiovese with 10% Colorino off vines up to 60 years of age. It is raised mainly in larger Slovenian oak along with some French barriques. It is immediately expressive with highly perfumed ripe cherry and plum fruits. There are notes of blood orange and rose petals too. It has good flesh and power and terrific chalky grip. It is dark and chewy but with a high degree of elegance and ripe tannins carry the earthy finish. JH 2025
