2021 Vigneti Vecchio Etna Rosso “Contrada Malpasso”

Raspberry, almond paste, floral, liquorice, some dried herb and spice. It’s medium-bodied, ripe red fruits with thick stony and silty tannin, such succulence, but perfume too, has some sweet orange peel, moderate acidity, and a red fruit and blood orange finish of excellent length. Funny thing to say, is that while it’s identifiably Etna, it comes over like a warm year Burgundy.  Such an individual and wonderful wine. Drink : 2022 - 2028+  96 points Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
