A step up over the 2021, the 2020 Lirac Maximus is 99% Mourvèdre and 1% Grenache raised in new demi-muids. It's a head-turning good wine boasting a deep purple hue, loads of blackberry and black raspberry fruit, some peppery, gamey, smoky nuances, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and a great, great finish. It also picks up a serious bacon fat-like character with air. This brilliant Lirac has another decade of longevity ahead of it. 94 points. Jeb Dunnuck.
