2019 Terres Fidèles Côtes du Roussillon Villages Vieilles Vignes

60% Grenache and 40% Carignan from 40–80-Year-old vines in Maury in the South of France. Its fruit aromas and flavours are briary and darkly pitched and there's a hint of licorice and some purple flowers too. It is generous and full flavoured, with excellent depth and volume. With air more savoury things appear and it is persistent. Sealed under DIAM 5 it is fresh and should offer drinking pleasure for a few more years. Tamlyn Currin on JancisRobinson.com says this has ‘Gorgeous black fruit’ and is ‘Stunningly fresh!” and gives it 16.5. Wine Orbit said “The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight and fleshy texture, leading to a lengthy, flavoursome finish. Generous and opulent, offering terrific drinking” and gave it 94 points.
