2019 Ellena Giuseppe Barolo Ascheri, MAGNUM

A wonderful Cru just on the border of La Morra near Verduno. Always plenty of perfume and spice here. The vines are now 50+ years of age. There’s an intoxicating spice to the aroma. It has an intense core of cherry and blood plum fruits. It is velvety and possesses great drive, finishing with terrific persistence. A wine for the ages. JH 2022
