The easterly exposure of Ronchi, an MGA within the village of Barbaresco, is either loved or hated. The fresher side of the hill enhances the floral character of these Barbarescos, here exhibiting bright potpourri, cinnamon and watermelon aromas. There's no lack of depth, with smoky woodland savouriness. The acidity is firm and the tannins are ripe and velvety, even if with an austere finish. A very good wine but not ready yet. To be aged or matched with food. Aldo Fiordelli, Decanter. 2022
