The fruit comes from two Haute Cotes vineyards: ‘Les Chaignots’ in Orches and ‘Sous la Velle’ in Baubigny. The first thing that hits you here is the elegance. It smells ripe but nowhere near overdone. The palate is silky and plush and whilst it’s primarily focused in on the strawberry, cherry bright fruit spectrum there are hints here of all kinds of other things that take this to a whole other level. Fragrant, pretty, fine; clearly the cooler sites here were a real bonus in 2019. JH 2022
