Ellena Giuseppe positions its 2018 Barolo del Comune di La Morra at a very tempting price point. The blend sees fruit from four separate vineyard sites in La Morra (of which two are inside the Ascheri MGA). The long, polished elegance of that site is in fact the motor that drives this wine. It reveals dark fruit, rose petal and soft earthy sensations. Winemaking sees 60 days of maceration in stainless steel and 24 months of oak aging (using a combination of large botte and smaller barrique). 90 points. The Wine Advocate.
