2013 Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru ‘Lavaux St Jacques’

Good full, bright medium red. Fresh scents of raspberry, minerals, spices and pepper. Dense but light on its feet, offering complex, soil-driven flavors of red berries, peppery spices and underbrush lifted by brisk acidity and a floral topnote. Quite suave but youthfully unevolved, with the peppery tannins calling for patience. This may ultimately merit an even higher score. (Drink between 2023-2032)
