The oldest vines from this plot were planted in 1889. The wine has a very spicy nose of dried flowers, ginger and wild sage. It has a touch of leather and chocolate development and with air the Grenache raspberry fruit intensifies at its heart. It is a vibrant and detailed wine, offering complex traits of a cool year. There’s plenty of savoury nuance and some briary fruit bitterness providing a lovely fresh closure to this ethereal beauty. JH 2019
