2007 Domaine Jayer-Gilles Echezeaux Grand Cru

Deep red with ruby highlights. Musky, wild aromas of black raspberry and truffle, with a light leesy nuance. Densely packed, broad and rich, with terrific lift to the mineral-driven flavors of wild strawberry, raspberry, licorice and leather. Seriously closed now but boasts superb material for aging. Finishes with chewy, oak-driven tannins and excellent energy. Stephen Tamzer, Vinous.
