2001 Château d'Yquem, Sauternes, 750ml

I took one sniff of this and said “that’s the ’01 Yquem’. Gotta talk yourself up when you nail an option! So complex, with notes of apricot jam, pineapple, coconut ice and candied peel. Rich and honeyed through the mid, so much presence and intensity. The finish drives on for an eternity, and despite its sweetness and concentration it is a fresh wine that glides across the palate and provides so much pleasure without any excess fat or weight.
