1993 Banfi "Poggio all'Oro" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The colour is deep ruby. Minty aromas are overlaid by smoke, leather and toast. Robust and chewy, it is markedly oak-driven on the palate where cedar and coffee take over. Hard-edged wood tannins are thick and blocky. Nevertheless, a fairly racy, well-conserved Brunello.  Michaela Morris, Decanter.
