1982 Pio Cesare Barolo

Quite a bit of mocha/chocolate sneaking into the aroma profile. After plenty of air you get some smoke, tar, burnt fig and raisins. It is ripe and heady but has all sorts of earthy nuance. There's plenty of chew to the finish and it finishes with a suggestion of scorched earth. JH 2017
