The cork was sludgy and earthy and broke in half. The wine was in good form and had a fresh appearance and colour for its age. The nose had some freshly polished boot leather, green bean and sweet cedar. There's still some sweet, briary fruit at its core. There are notes of truffle and violets and tannins are quite relaxed. It has some earthy development and a persistent finish. JH 2026
