1979 Rivetto Barolo

There's some mushroom and earth to begin but after an hour or two in the decanter it really starts to get up and boogie. There are notes of bitter chocolate, tart red fruits, balsamic, tar and spruce. It sweetens at its heart and is quite richly fruited. There's good detail and a finish of sour cherry. JH 2016
