1979 Oddero Barolo

Fairly tight at first offering up a whiff of tar and iron. Really blooms after a 5 hour decant. There are notes of meat, berry and licorice. It is deep and chewy with bright minerally acidity and excellent cut. It has sneaky persistence and is laden with all sorts of engaging savoury things. JH 2016
