1962 Pio Cesare Barbaresco

Has some tertiary nuttiness about it, but this is essentially a majestic, aged wine that is drinking at the top of its game. There are strawberry and cherry fruits surrounded by black earth. It has some pine needle notes, some floral spice and a suggestion of menthol. Tannins are resolved yet supportive and it has real sneaky persistence. A complete wine. JH 2017
