1962 Marchesi di Barolo Barolo

The bottle was in splendid condition. Complex aromatics of cedar, tar, menthol, mint, black olive and bitter chocolate. It is fresh and savoury in the mouth with all sorts of meaty and earthy things going on. There's some iodine like saltiness that is quite pleasant and a suggestion of balsamic. It finishes with tart berry acidity and is very long. JH 2026
