1962 Chanson Beaune 1er Cru, Champimonts

A really good bottle. A nose of decaying rose, pine needle, smoked meats and strawberry. The palate is silky, sweet and vinous, with savoury nuance. There's a hint of coffee development. Tannins are fully resolved and there's a gentle kiss of minerally acidity. It is not particularly deep or long, but thoroughly engaging and vital. JH 2023
