1958 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Riserva Vini Pregiati

An enticing nose of forest floor, truffle and Indian spices. The palate was still rich and full, with a core of sweet, ripe fruits. There was plenty of savoury nuance and a gentle flex of muscle from the wine’s remaining tannins. There was an uptick of balsamic volatility on the long finish. A beautiful bottle that was thoroughly engaging from start to finish. JH 2024
