In 2013 we travelled through Germany, starting in the Mosel region tasting some fantastic Rieslings, we then drove to Berlin where we spent a few days exploring the historic city.
The Sony Center
Walking tour of Berlin
This is the European headquarters for Sony, designed by Helmut Jahn, it opened in 2000. Located at the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, the Sony Center is an excellent place to base yourself during your stay. The Center hosts a multitude of businesses, including cinemas, and IMAX theatre, film and art museums as well as resturants and offices; the Lego store is also worth a visit. The centre has a large television that often plays international sporting events for members of the public to enjoy.
Situated right on the border of East and West, this iconic location is close to numerous Subway stations, nearest being Potsdamer Platz. Dali Museum is just a short walk away, however, as well as many other great Berlin attractions including the Tiergarten parklands and the Holocaust Memorial, designed by architect Peter Eisenman and engineer Buro Happold.
