The 2016 Jean-Claude Boisset Gevrey-Chambertin has just landed. The fruit was all de-stemmed and you get pure black cherry notes along with smoked meats and earth. It is a substantial wine with real depth and solid build. It is complex and the finish is very long. Limited bottles available.
This is a tiny yielding vintage and winemaker Gregory Patriat (ex Domaine Leroy) believes it is one of the finest Gevrey wines he has made. We certainly agree.
