We call it Mataro, the Frogs Mourvedre and the Spaniards Monastrell. The only thing not confusing is the fact that the 05 Hecula is an absolute ripping bargain. There are warm berry fruits, coal smoke, leather and earthy notes. It is ripe and juicy with a rigid graphite core. It drinks beautifully today, breathes up well with a long decant and should continue to age well over the next few years.
