There is no minimum amount for wine purchases, although, freight will be charged at rates of 12 bottles. To ensure safe packing of wine, and to make the most of an order with freight costs, it is worthwhile ordering a 12 pack. If you are not in a rush for the wine, we are happy to hold bottles until you have purchased enough to make full use of the freight rate.
Unless specified otherwise, all purchases incur a freight cost. We charge only what the freight carriers charge. We use Australia Post and reputable interstate couriers.
Freight is charged per dozen. We can hold stock for you until you have ordered a dozen.
From the purchase date we ask you to allow up to 14 days for your order to be collated and delivered. Although, weather permitting, d’Or to Door ships overnight to Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Please allow 2-3 days for other capital cities and a week to Perth.
If you need the stock to be delivered for an occasion we can fast-track urgent deliveries.
We ensure we only send wine when the weather is at a safe transportable temperature, taking into account both destination and departure points. Sometimes this means the wine will take longer than 14 days to deliver. If this is the case we will contact you. Wine will only be sent in warm weather if you specifically request it to be.
By joining our mailing list you will receive email offers on all the latest d’Or to Door wines.
We offer a full guarantee on every bottle we sell. If, for any reason, you believe the wine does not present as you would expect it to, please let us know and we will replace it. If you are opening a bottle that is a birth year wine, or an older one, consider the Audouze method (read on for more details) of opening to ensure you get the best result from your wine.
We recommend using a Durand Bottle opener or similar.
Audouze Method (see following section)
Text taken from academies vinsanciens on Sunday 26th March 2006
The so-called Audouze method should be called: slow oxygenation method. But as some of you have tried to use it by making innovations, I would be happy that this method would be called: “do nothing method”.
I would be happy that the method would be used in its total purity.
So, the skeleton of this method is:
- you open a wine 4 to 5 hours before drinking
- you let it stand
- you do not touch it anymore
- when it is time, you pour it in the glasses
- point.
The more you use it in its simplest way, the more you will check how efficient it is.
Contact us if you are looking for a specific wine as our range of stock is constantly changing.
