2003 Dugat Py Pommard, La Levriere, Vieille Vigne
Given the producer, village and year I thought this may be tough as Charles Bronson. Not to be, it was actually, opulent, creamy, full and quite delicious. The fruit was a little slutty and saturates the palate with flavours of blood plum, black current, liqueur cherry and prune. It had notes of baked earth, liquorice, smoked meats, bitter chocolate and dried flowers. Acidity is very low but the wine maintains freshness from its grippy tannins. Atypical Burg, but thoroughly enjoyable. JH 2016
